Mrs. Ruth Ann Bohner

Ruth Ann Bohner, 67, of Gratz, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Ruth was born on August 25, 1958, in Gratz, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Albert M. and Eva F. Lesher. Ruth was known for her caring heart, strong spirit, and deep love for her family. In her retirement, she enjoyed working as a driver for members of the Amish community, a role that allowed her to spend time with others and form many meaningful friendships. She loved cooking for family and friends, trying her luck at Hollywood Casino, and creating memories with those she loved most. Above all, Ruth cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Darvin L. Bohner. Cherishing her memory are her children, Dave Bohner and his wife, Brandi; Mark Bohner and his wife, Amanda; and Desirae (Bohner) Lentz and her husband, Morgan. She was the proud grandmother of Kaylyn (Bohner) Straub and her husband, Daniel; Maeann (Bohner) Barge and her husband, Carson; Lexis Bohner and her fiancé, Patrick Bateman; Gage Bohner, Grace Martin, Gabriel Martin, and Gavin Martin. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Baylor Barge, Lakelin Barge, and Everly Carter. Also surviving are her brothers, Martin L. Lesher Sr. and Paul F. Lesher. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Darvin L. Bohner, Jr.; her brothers, James M. Lesher Sr. and John L. Lesher Sr.; and her sisters, Martha I. Snyder and Shirley A. Hendricks. The family would like to welcome all to a visitation on Friday, August 7 , 2026, from 10:00-11:00 AM at James A. Reed Funeral Home, 137 Market Street, Pillow, PA 17080. Services to follow at 11:00 AM. To celebrate Ruth's life and honor her courageous fight, attendees are encouraged to wear periwinkle, the color associated with stomach cancer awareness, in her memory. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Research Institute in honor of Ruth and in support of ongoing cancer research.
