Russell L. Matter

April 21, 1932 - July 13, 2020

Russell L. "Mickey" Matter, age 88, formerly of Gratz, passed away on July 13, 2020, at Premier at Susquehanna, Millersburg. He was born in Klingerstown on April 21, 1932, a son of the late Carrie Hoffman Matter and the late Ralph Matter. Mickey retired from the former Brubaker Tool Co, Millersburg. He served in the Army during the Korea War. He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz. Mickey was also a member of Gratz VFW Post 2385 and American Legion Post 504 Mandata. He is survived by a brother, Lamar Matter of Northumberland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin Matter and Carl Matter, and three sisters, Lorraine Gerhart, Katrhryn Weber, and Fern Miller. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 on Monday, July 20, 2020 from the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
