Lamar R. Matter, 87, of Urban, passed away on January 25, 2021, at the Nottingham Village, Northumberland. He was born in Klingerstown on December 2, 1933, a son of the late Carrie and Ralph Matter. Lamar served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a Truck Driver for Weis Markets for many years. He was a member of Saint Paul's UCC, Urban, Diamond Jubilee VFW, Post 2385, Gratz, an avid turkey hunter, Yankees, Penn State and Dallas Cowboys fan. Lamar is survived by his three daughters, Tammy (Mitch) Leiby, Shelly (JD) Straub, Cindy (Clint) Geist; grandson, Nathan; granddaughter, Allyson. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlene Leitzel-Matter; brothers, Marlin, Carl and Russell Matter, sisters, Lorraine Gerhart, Kathryn Webber, Fern Miller. A viewing will be held on January 30, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Paul's UCC, Urban. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Saint Paul's UCC. Interment will take place in the Saint Paul's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Diamond Jubilee Memorial, VFW Post 2385, 424 Specktown Rd, Lykens, PA 17048.
